In April 5, 2008, Grand Effect blog advertising network, co-founded by Sarah Perez and David Peralty, included eXtra for Every Publisher, gHacks, ParisLemon, SheGeeks, Sarah in Tampa, and The Last Podcast!.[]

From 2008 to 2011, the site held an annual Christmas Giveaway, with commercial software given away to readers.[14][15]

The website received more than 400,000 visitors per day as of January 2017,[] and as of June 2019 has an Alexa traffic rank of 9,537 worldwide and 4,269 in the United States.[16]

In October 2019, Ghacks was acquired by Softonic.[17]
