The Monkey's Paw is a 2013 American horror film based on the short story of the same name by author W. W. Jacobs.[2] The film revolves around Jake Tilton who receives a mysterious monkey's paw talisman which grants him three wishes.[3] The film was directed by Brett Simmons, written by Macon Blair and produced by Ross Otterman for TMP Films, and is a Chiller Films presentation.

The film was released in theaters and video on demand on October 8, 2013.

The film was shot on location in New Orleans and faced difficulties filming in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.[4][5]

Felix Vasquez at gave the film a negative review. Vasquez was critical of how the original short story had been overstretched, saying "There's so much padding and filler here, you could cut it down to fifty minutes without missing much." Vasquez did praise the lead performance form Lang, but concluded "it's just another goofy slasher film with a heavy emphasis on melodrama."[4]
