The template directs readers to the "Animated films task force", whereas the title of that entity is the "Animated films work group" --LukeSurlt c 14:06, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. I'm pretty sure I can guess what your X to Y is, but I want to be sure because if it is what I think it is, then I'd have to decline this request. "task force" is consistent and the link takes you to popflock.com Resource: WikiProject Animation/Animated films work group via a redirect that was created by Fortdj33 apparently for that reason. Such a redirect would seem to fall under WP:NOTBROKEN to me. -- 17:06, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- Change the template so it displays, when Animated=yes, "Animated films work group" rather than "Animated films task force" because this is the name of the actual page. It also makes the template display the same as Template:WikiProject Animation which uses the correct term. Currently talk pages such as Talk:Foodfight! which implement both templates give the impression there are two different groups - it looks like People's Front of Judea vs.Judean People's Front type situation. --LukeSurlt c 19:04, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- Required code in the /sandbox. I can't think of any reasons not to do this. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:27, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- The difference between "task force" and "work group", is because the article falls under the scope of more than one WikiProject. For example, if I pick a random article from the "Indian cinema task force", such as Talk:Jeevitham (1984 film), it shows up under the {{WikiProject India}} banner as part of the "Indian cinema workgroup". Similarly, a random article from the "Comic book films task force", such as Talk:The Fantastic Four (2015 film), shows up under the {{WikiProject Comics}} banner as part of the "Comic book films work group". I understand the good faith effort on the part of LukeSurl, but this is simply not a problem that needs to be fixed. Fortdj33 (talk) 21:11, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- It seems that Indian cinema and Comic book films are actually task forces of WP:FILM whereas animated films is a work group of WP:ANIMATION. Would it not make sense to call them by their actual names? (And those other two banners could be adjusted to reflect that.) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 23:23, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- I would say that they already are being called by their proper names, within the context of their parent projects. All of them are referred to as "task forces" by {{WikiProject Film}}, and all of them are referred to as "work groups" by their respective secondary projects. Just because the Animated films task force started as a work group of WP:ANIMATION, is no reason to make all the other joint task forces conform to it. As Technical 13 points out, if it's WP:NOTBROKEN, why fix it? Fortdj33 (talk) 01:49, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
As a creator of this work group, I would have no problem with that, but not likely right now since this a work group WP:ANIMATION. JJ98 (Talk) 09:37, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Future-class
Can this template be edited to enable assessing articles as being Future-class? I'm not sure how exactly it works but it'd be useful for this one, to tag upcoming films. See Template:WikiProject Albums & Category:Future-Class_Album_articles. -- Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 06:58, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- Yes it could, but you would need to discuss this kind of change with the WikiProject first. Regards — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:19, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, Jeraphine. We used to have Future-Class but removed it because we found the other classes (Stub, Start, C) sufficient. My approach has been that an article cannot be B-class until the film has been released, meaning both reviews and box office content. If you'd like to request bringing it back, you can start a discussion at WT:FILM. For what it's worth, Category:Upcoming films can be used to identify articles about upcoming films, which is more direct than going through talk pages. - Hey thanks. If it's already been done and undone then I'm not gonna push it. I was just wondering. -- Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 13:26, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- No problem! :) Erik II (talk | contrib) (ping me) 14:32, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Task force counting error
For some reason, the Mexican task force articles aren't counted in Category:WikiProject Film task force usage. See Talk:¡Viva México! (El grito de Dolores) which puts it in Category:Film articles with no associated task forces. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 05:23, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- This edit has fixed it. --Redrose64 (talk) 09:29, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
Casting consensus discussion
Listen up, everyone. Deathawk started a discussion on casting sections in movies on the Wikifilm talk page like a week ago and it has been mostly forgotten. Everyone on it might want to take a look and continue with it's discussion so we can set up a consensus about it. The discussion is located here. So go there so we can reach an consensus. Korean cinema icon
I've made a proposal to change the icon for the Korean cinema task force: please place any comments at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film/Korean cinema task force#New task force icon. If no-one objects I will make the change in about a week or so. PC78 (talk) 12:12, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

Parameters for Pakistani cinema task force
 | This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
A group of Wikipedians has recently started a Pakistani cinema task force working under the Film WikiProject. We would really appreciate it if the quality and assessment parameters for our project could be added into Template:WikiProject Film (like other projects), so that we can commence article ratings. Cheers! Pinging @PC78: (or anyone else who is able to edit it). Mar4d (talk) 08:36, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- The icon to be used for the task force is File:Pakistanfilm.png. Mar4d (talk) 08:42, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- Where is the discussion that led to this task force being created? I don't see anything at WT:FILM or WT:PAK. PC78 (talk) 13:38, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- @PC78: It was a personal initiative, brought about after receiving a positive response here and here. There are a handful of other active editors in the topic area also. Mar4d (talk) 15:05, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit template-protected}}
template. Please start a discussion at WT:FILM. -- JJMC89 (T·C) 15:23, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- @JJMC89: Sorry, could you clarify the above? Unless I have missed something, consensus for the task force was formed between the current members. Do you mean to say it needs to be reviewed at WT:FILM before further activity can place? Mar4d (talk) 15:43, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- Creating the task force is one thing. There needs to be consensus from WP:FILM to add the task force to the template. -- JJMC89 (T·C) 16:09, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) I think the usual protocol is to discuss with the relevant WikiProject before setting up a new task force. I can't see it being a problem as you have a number of interested users, but I'll raise it at WT:FILM to give others an opportunity to comment. PC78 (talk) 16:12, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying this, no worries. I can see why that is a requirement, and should've thought about this earlier. Will cooperate in that regard. Cheers, Mar4d (talk) 16:55, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- The parameter should now be working. I've created some categories and tagged a few articles just to get you started. PC78 (talk) 07:11, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
- @PC78: Thanks so much, really appreciate it. Regards, Mar4d (talk) 16:48, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
- @PC78, JJMC89, and Mar4d: Hi! In the page, there's written:
- Pakistani - set
|Pakistani=yes
if the article is supported by the Persian[Pakistani] cinema task force
- Please correct it, Thanks! M. Billoo 04:59, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- This is the documentation page Template:WikiProject Film/doc. You can correct this yourself! — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:36, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- I've fixed it. Thanks for pointing this out. Cheers, Mar4d (talk) 07:58, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Please be so kind and add "Venezuelan cinema task force" to the available options. The parameters can be Venezuelan-cinema-task-force=yes or Venezuelan=yes. There is a Category:Venezuelan cinema task force articles which is so far empty. Best regards from a participant. Fadesga (talk) 22:41, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
- Does it have a home page? Like these: the American cinema task force; the Argentine cinema task force; the Australian cinema task force; the Baltic cinema task force; the British cinema task force; the Canadian cinema task force; the Chinese cinema task force; the French cinema task force; the German cinema task force; the Indian cinema task force; the Italian cinema task force; the Japanese cinema task force; the Korean cinema task force; the Mexican cinema task force; the New Zealand cinema task force; the Nordic cinema task force; the Pakistani cinema task force; the Persian cinema task force; the Southeast Asian cinema task force; the Soviet and post-Soviet cinema task force; the Spanish cinema task force. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 00:08, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Redrose64: Brand new but created before this request: popflock.com Resource: WikiProject Venezuela/Venezuelan cinema task force ~ Amory (u o t o c) 12:20, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- OK, I note that unlike all those listed above, it's not a subpage of popflock.com Resource: WikiProject Film, so do you have the consensus of WikiProject Film to add a taskforce of WikiProject Venezuela into the Film banner? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 15:21, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
Not done for now: Please request consensus at WT:FILM for this change. Izno (talk) 20:00, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
FM-class
Could the assessment list be expanded to include the FM-class? There are posters and other files that have reached the FM class and there's already an empty category for it. Rfl0216 (talk) 15:54, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- Technically, it's easy: we just need to add to Template:WikiProject Film/class. But first we need consensus at WT:FILM. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 17:39, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- To keep Category:Incorrectly tagged WikiProject Film articles manageable, I've removed the FM-class tag in {{WikiProject Film}} from the following 4 files and set them to File-class instead. If there's consensus from the WikiProject for having FM-class added to the template, then the FM-class can be restored to the 4 files:

Template:WikiProject Film
I have recently created popflock.com Resource: WikiProject Film/Paraguayan cinema task force and I need to modify the Template:WikiProject Film to include what kind of category the articles related to films from Paraguay belong to. Bruno Rene Vargas (talk) 15:11, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
