Precious Lunga (born 1974 in Bulawayo, Rhodesia) is a Zimbabwean-born epidemiologist. She is currently Head of Health at global telecommunications company Econet Wireless. Prior to taking up this post, she worked with UNAIDS Geneva, and participated in anti-HIV microbicide trials led by the UK Medical Research Council for African women. She also worked in countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa.
Precious Lunga was born in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (present-day Zimbabwe), and grew up there until the age of 17, when she went to Britain to study. She attended the University of Edinburgh graduating in 1998 with a first-class degree in neuroscience. She went on to earn a PhD in neuroscience in 2003 from the University of Cambridge, where she was also captain of the women's karate team.
