Political Geography is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal published by Elsevier covering spatial dimensions of politics.[1] The current editor-in-chief is Philip Steinberg (Durham University).[2]

According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2015 impact factor of 2.733, ranking it 7th out of 163 journals in the category "Political Science" and 9th out of 77 journals in the category "Geography".[3]


The journal began as Political Geography Quarterly in 1982 (ISSN 0260-9827). It became a bimonthly magazine in 1992.[4]
