"Lullaby" is a song by American rock singer Shawn Mullins, from the album Soul's Core. It was released in 1998. The song has been Mullins' most successful song to date, reaching number-one on the Adult Top 40, number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and number 9 on the Modern Rock Tracks in the United States.[1] It also had success abroad, reaching number 9 on the UK Singles Chart,[2] number 5 in Australia[3] and number 2 in Canada.

It has appeared on thirty-two different releases including the original album, Soul's Core, greatest hits albums, 1990s compilations and acoustic compilations.[4]

The song is said to be about a girl who is feeling depressed as she comes to grip with her own mortality, recalling her young life as a Hollywood socialite, glamorous days, drug fueled nights, ultimately winding up a washout on the edge of town where only the drugs keep alive the memory of what was.[5]
