David O'Connor Egyptologist

David Bourke O'Connor (born 1938) is an Australian Egyptologist, currently residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. O'Connor holds the position of Lila Acheson Wallace Professor of Ancient Egyptian Art, in the Institute of Fine Arts of New York University.

Biography

O'Connor received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Sydney in 1958, a post-graduate diploma in 1962, and a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 1969.

His major interests are ancient Egyptian art history and archaeology.

He is affiliated with the American Research Center in Egypt.
