Crossover jazz is a genre of music that combines jazz with other genres to appeal to a bigger audience. Musicians in this genre sell albums on charts other than jazz, such as pop and R&B. Examples include George Benson, Chris Botti, Candy Dulfer, Michael Franks, Dave Grusin, Earl Klugh, Bob James, Al Jarreau, Lee Ritenour, David Sanborn, Spyro Gyra, and Grover Washington Jr.[1]
