Girls in Aviation Day is a Worldwide event sponsored by local Women in Aviation Chapters, under parent organization Women in Aviation, International. Your local WAI-Cleveland Chapter is proud to host the second annual Girls in Aviation Day at Burke Lakefront Airport on October 5th, 2019!
This event is designed to introduce young ladies to the various exciting careers in the aviation industry. Throughout the day we will host a career panel allowing for questions and answers from successful female pilots and air traffic controllers! You can even take time to explore airplanes during our general aviation walk around, and get a first hand look inside a corporate jet static display.
We will teach the ladies how to create a flight plan using aviation charts, and then step into and fly an aircraft simulator! Several local schools and aviation groups will have their individual booths in attendance as well. Please feel free to ask them questions about their particular program.
We have an exciting Keynote speaker lunch included for girl and adult participants, and will provide a parent lounge area for adults to relax while the girls are busy with activities. The parents lounge will be led by FAA inspector Chris Palcho, where the adults can learn about aviation as well! Refreshments will be served.
