One of the great pleasures in reading and writing science fiction and fantasy literature is the opportunity to inhabit another world. But creating a world for others to enjoy is another thing entirely—and we have to make sure that created world serves the story. In this short, intensive workshop, we’ll look at ways sci-fi and fantasy stories can not only create meaningful settings, but leverage them to advance plot, theme, and characterization. No need to submit work ahead of time; just brush up on your Elvish, grab your Marauder's Map, and fire up the hyperdrive!
