You are invited to a Climate Action Panel Discussion with experts in the fields of environment, climate change and climate adaptation.
At the Climate Action Town Hall I hosted at the end of March, there were a number of concerns from some Davenport residents who attended including:
Many believing that the federal government’s climate plan is not enough;
The climate plan does not yet reach the emissions reductions targets that would allow Canada to fulfill its Paris Accord commitment;
Need for better communication of the government’s climate plan and the urgency of climate action;
A feeling among some that the transition away from fossil fuels is not fast enough.
We would like to continue the discussion started at the last town hall by raising the issues above, and other questions through a panel discussion. We have invited three great panellists to do so.
The panel will be followed by a Q&A so you can take also part in the discussion.
Here are the panellists:
Lisa DeMarco, Senior Partner at DeMarco Allan LLP & Climate change lawyer acting on behalf of IETA as an intervener for the crown in SK Saskatchewan reference case
Arthur Lofsky, Director, Government Relations & Climate Adaptation Lead (Ontario) at the Insurance Bureau of Canada
Mark Winfield, Professor of Environmental Studies at York University
