IMPORTANT TOUR INFORMATION:
Every person on the tour must print and sign a waiver, and bring it with to the tour. Landfill staff may shoot photos during the tour. If willing to be photographed, please sign the Photo Model Release form on the back of the waiver. Photos of tours may be used in the OC Waste & Recycling Annual Report and/or in digital and print informational materials. Click the link for a waiver form: Prima Deshecha Landfill Waiver.
OC Waste & Recycling (OCWR) requires each visitor to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants are desirable over shorts or dresses.
Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes, including a pre-tour presentation, review of safety rules, and van tour.
The maximum number of visitors per tour is 14.
Please contact OC Waste & Recycling to make special arrangements for larger groups or for any special needs and accommodations. The contact link is at the bottom of this page above the map.
Please note: Groups of 15 or more may need to provide a van or bus and must be arranged separately.
Age Restrictions and WaiverChildren must be at least five years old. California Child Passenger Safety law applies. Guests are responsible to bring car seats when applicable.
Parents must sign for children under the age of 18. Signed waivers must be brought to the site on the day of the tour.
Cancellations If you are unable to attend a tour on your registered day, please cancel your registration through EventBrite or e-mail OCWRLandfill@ocwr.ocgov.com at least 24 hours before your scheduled tour.
Parking & DirectionsCarpooling is advised as parking is limited. Public access is available using the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5), exiting at Ortega Highway to La Pata Avenue.
When approaching the Prima Deshecha Landfill entrance, please follow the signs to the landfill office building, not the hazardous waste collection center drive through. The office building has a "Green" roof covered with vegetation.
