This workshop will provide prospective clients with an overview of our planning process, who they meet with, what they should do to prepare for various meetings, and our planning philosophy. We will explore some traditional estate planning concepts including probate and living trusts, but will also go into more detail as to what additional steps need to be taken to ensure a trust based estate plan actually accomplishes a client's objectives.
We will address a number of topics that are typically overlooked in the planning process including how to leave assets to loved ones that are protected against divorce, law suits, creditors, bankruptcy, and nursing homes. We will also explore how to ensure inherited assets remain in a family bloodline and are protected against remarriage of a widowed client.
Finally, we will discuss professional fees, what are the upfront costs as well as hidden costs most people don't know to ask about. We will explore strategies to reduce professional fees and provide an overview of our model for professional fees.
Participants will receive an Orientation Guide as well as Counseling Workbook which will serve as a reference and guidepost during the planning process.
This program is a prerequisite to commencing the estate planning process with our firm. For married couples, both spouses should plan on attending. Financial advisors, CPA's and other allied planning professionals are welcome to attend.
