oundation Fighting Blindness invites you for a *Mystical Sufi evening of Qawwali with Fanna-Fi-Allah* on April 26, 2019 at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto.
Foundation Fighting Blindness is a charity that has been incorporated since 1974. Over a million Canadians are living with blindness retinal eye diseases today. We have raised over $ 30 million which has led to 600 new discoveries in the fight to find cures for impaired vision.
Proceeds from the event will go towards our work in discovering how vision loss occurs, how to prevent it and how it can be restored.
Fanna Fi Allah is an Ensemble that focuses on Qawwali - a Devotional music of the Moslim Sufis. Fanna-Fi-Allah hold the flame of traditional Sufi Qawwali music, with the blessings of their teachers; some of the greatest masters of the qawwali form in India and Pakistan. Through the beauty of the music they embody a universal message of devotion and tolerance that is crucial to our time The group's founding members have spent over 20 years learning this classical art, which celebrates the great Sufi mystics of old and relishes in the love of the Divine through poetry. Sung with a powerful soaring chorus and accompanied by the energetic rhythms of tabla and group clapping, the Beloved is celebrated with ecstatic devotion.
